Youth Programs at The Waldo

Join us on stage at The Waldo! With a rotating offering of classes, we aim to help participants develop the skills needed to put on a play, while also providing a space to have fun and play.

At The Waldo, performing arts is about promoting joy, expression, and connection.

To learn more, check out the class information below!

After School

In our after school program, care is taken to provide participants with a collaborative and supportive environment that allows them to take artistic risks as they learn how to use their body, voice, minds, and imagination to bring characters and stories to life. We offer classes for grades 1st-3rd, 4th-6th, and 7th-12th. Payment plans and scholarships are available. For questions, email us at education@thewaldotheatre.org

This summer, join us on The Waldo stage! Over the course of two weeks, campers will learn valuable theatre arts skills in acting, performance, and backstage design, all while rehearsing the play Fractured Fairy Tale Middle School. Under the guidance of professional actor and director, Teralyn Reiter, campers will spend the morning developing their Actor’s Tools before applying these skills in rehearsals in the afternoon. Campers will also enjoy workshops further diving into theatre specialties such as lighting, sound, and movement given by professionals in the field. On the last day of camp, family & friends are invited to join us for a performance of Fractured Fairy Tale Middle School on Friday, August 1st at 2:00. All levels of experience are welcome.

Fractured Fairy Tale Middle School is a journey everyone must make, even our beloved fairy tale characters. And their fairy tale status doesn't make life at Fractured Fairy Tale Middle School any easier. With an evil headmistress threatening detention and total school destruction, the students must find their talents, put their differences aside, and save the school!

  • Please provide a lunch and water bottle for your camper each day.

  • Registration includes 2 free tickets to the performance. All other tickets are $10.

  • Proceeds go to supporting The Waldo’s scholarship fund.

“I loved that there were students from all levels of acting experience that were able to come together in one class and create scenes together!”
