Education at The Waldo

The education program at The Waldo invites you to bring your voice and creativity to the stage. With a rotating offering of classes, we aim to help participants develop the skills needed to put on a play, while also providing a space to have fun and play. At The Waldo, performing arts is about promoting joy, expression, and connection.

The Waldo has made access to theatre arts education for youth one of its priorities. Through the generosity of donations, sponsorship, and grants The Waldo has designed a program to bring theatre arts directly into the classroom. With every educational program we offer (youth or adult), The Waldo is using a sliding scale in the hope that we can create more financial accessibility to our workshops. We believe that financial resources should not be the determining factor for folks that want to access arts experiences. If you are unfamiliar with a sliding scale, each participant may determine for themselves which option along the scale is best for them. There is no income verification, everyone is trusted to make the decision that is best for them. In theory, those that are able to pay full price provide the cushion for those that are not.
