About The Waldo
In the coastal village of Waldoboro, on Main Street, you’ll find The Waldo Theatre, the heart of arts and entertainment on Maine’s Midcoast. Year-round, we offer live music, theatre, movies, stand-up comedy, and education programs for the whole region. Our stage hosts everything from homegrown productions to nationally and internationally known artists.
The theatre itself is something special. Built in 1936 and fully restored, it holds 290 seats in an intimate Art Deco hall known for its acoustics. Performers love this room, and audiences can feel why. With modern lighting, projection, and ventilation, plus the ability to live-stream events, The Waldo connects the Midcoast to the world and brings the world to the Midcoast.
None of it happens without our volunteers. They donate their time, talents, and skills to make every show possible, and their passion keeps The Waldo thriving as we celebrate our 90th year.
